Using the roots of an orchid as inspiration, make a random-weave basket vessel to hold a paper orchid.
Sherry Doyal is an artist basketmaker influenced by natural science collections. Her contemporary basketry works reflect on Charles Darwin’s orchid research which he made in garden outbuildings at his home, Downe House in Kent.
Sherry will be in residence in the Gallery, Friday 1 – Sat 2 July, 11am – 6pm. Drop by to watch her work, and ask any questions.
