About

This guest lecture is arranged by Bluecoat's former Philosopher in Residence, University of Liverpool's Dr Yiota Vassilopoulou. We are delighted that Professor Lydia Goehr, Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University will join us for a one off public lecture.

Goehr uses William Hogarth's pictures of different sorts of artists to ask why have musicians, painters, and poets competed with each other? Why did painters of this period depict enraged musicians and distressed poets?

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.

Part of The Liverpool Royal Institute of Philosophy Lecture Series.
