An exhibition of art on pizza boxes to raise funds for Hackney Foodbank

About

Atom Gallery has invited over 50 artists to each produce an artwork on an empty pizza box for an exhibition to raise much needed funds for Hackney Foodbank.

Artists from London’s urban and street art scenes, as well as further afield, will be spraying, painting, printing and drawing on pizza boxes supplied by local pizza companies, which will then be exhibited at the gallery and sold to raise money for the charity.

Artists involved include Pure Evil, Rob Ryan, Supermundane, Carrie Reichardt, Jessica Albarn, Heath Kane, Magda Archer, Skeleton Cardboard, Ryan Callanan and Dr D.

Hackney Foodbank was founded by local churches and community groups in 2012, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area. Since opening, the foodbank has provided the ingredients for more than 100,000 meals to local people in financial crisis. Hackney Foodbank is a member of the Trusel Trust Food Network.

Small but ambitious, Atom Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Stoke Newington, London, which hosts regular exhibitions and showcases the work of new and emerging artists and printmakers.
