About

An award-winning contemporary art photographer based in London. Joubinaux has professionally shot a number of high-profile people (Including the late Roger Moore) as well as places and products across the world. His work comprises expert skill in processing image and manipulation of natural light sources as well as composition.

Interested in the public’s perception of the medium of photography, Joubinaux current series of work ‘Camera (Regarder)’ allows the viewer an insight into how a camera works. Also, it shows the beautiful process of manipulation of light that the camera lens and eye share.

As part of the Illusionarium light trail in Romford Joubinaux created a giant camera obscura in the historical market to capture and experience life on the market. The camera was constructed from a gazebo where people could come inside to experience how the camera works a see the world as it really is. The eye works as simply as the camera creating a 2D image which is inside out and upside down, the brain however corrects this by making a complicated 3D image which turns the images as we see at a lightning speed.

During the 25TH -26TH FEB between 12-5PM there will be an opportunity for participants in ‘The People’s Chandelier’ glass blowing sessions who were unable to collect their glass pieces before Christmas to do so.
