Calling Darkness

Armin Mell and Lukas Rietzschel complement each other: where one captures bizarre-looking snapshots of a bleak reality, the other relies on archaeological layering, on a long process of creation dominated by chance and skill. The broken plastic surface exposes wounds in one, while in the other the viewer can see himself reflected in the smoothly polished canvas. And yet they thematize the same thing, the unsaid, the incomprehensible. They dealt with the creepy fascination of processes whose consequences could not be foreseen beforehand and whose results would have preferred to remain hidden in the dark. The exhibition is accompanied by the spherical anddark sounds of Atlas Glaas.
