About

Taking as its point of departure the name of the decaying stately home inhabited by the inglorious Miss Havisham in Charles Dickens's ‘Great Expectations', Satis House is at once a new and very old domestic space just off the Ormeau Road in South Belfast. Held within a row of terraces on Deramore Avenue, the space exists in what was once the master bedroom of this modest dwelling. Following on from our most recent exhibitions, which have showcased the work of both local and international artists across a wide range of disciplines, we are currently accepting proposals for stimulating new or existing work to inhabit this room. The gallery space is approximately 4m long and 3.3m wide, with a 3m floor to ceiling height. Submissions should include: - an outline of the proposed work (no more than 500 words) - an artist statement - a current CV - and no more than 4 images of recent work. As well as visual art proposals, we also wish to encourage submissions for one-off events — performances, talks, debates, or film screenings will all be considered. To submit, or for further information, please email: houseofsatis@gmail.com Deadline: 10th June 2012
