Cain Valley Kettle Choir

About

Tom Gilhespy performs the 'Cain Valley Kettle Choir' in which 50 whistling kettles will sing together, fired by specially fabricated stoves. The performance takes place in the parkland adjacent to Oriel Davies Gallery, 4-5pm. Afterward, there is an opening of of 'A place in the country : six artists from Denmark' which is showing in the main galleries at Oriel Davies - with discussion and presentations by the artists. Danish food and drink! As a result of the Interventions Wales exchange with Denmark in 2009 Klavs Weiss and Karen Havskov Jensen from et4u Contemporary Visual Art Projects in West Jutland invited sculptor Tom Gilhespy, video artist Ruth Carter and technical consultant Ian Garland to create two live performances of The Cain Valley Kettle Choir installation at the Kultucentret Tuskaer and Kunst Pakhuset Ikast in West Jutland.
