Agora Gallery’s latest exhibition, Cadences of Color & Form, brings together the work of eleven artists in a wide range of media and styles. Spanning Pop Art, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, and contemporary photography, the show explores the intersections between color and shapes. Proportions are elongated, magnified, distorted. Colors engage in dynamic relationships with the compositions, creating dreamy, atmospheric tableaux or dissecting the spaces into intricate architectures. The palette ranges from luscious blues and greens to punchy reds and oranges. The subjects are often unrecognizable, evoking an instinctual response that transcends literal interpretation. In their own unique way, each artist offers their perceptions of reality through disparate angles, taking the viewer on a roller coaster ride of emotions.
