Galleria Ramo is pleased to present Caìgo, a solo exhibition by Nicolò Masiero Sgrinzatto.
About
The artist presents five new works that experience an ambiguous condition. They investigate concepts such as fatigue and extremist performance elevated to a moral imperative that permeates the different spaces of the individual 24/7. This disorientating sensation is recorded in the "carousel" element: machines with bright and radiant colors - made up of important structures adorned with bizarre ornaments - are moved by high amperage mechanics that help to entertain and at the same time compete within a context like the one at the festival. A festive, community, explosive and simultaneously competitive, unpredictable, disturbing environment. The carousel and its patrons are afflicted, constantly forced to exhibit and perform, fueling an endless spiral with no way out. Caìgo derives from the Venetian dialect expression "ca me ligo", "here I tie myself because I can't see anything”.
The exhibition is accompanied by a text of the curator; Edoardo Durante.
Nicolò Masiero Sgrinzatto was born in Arre (PD), Italy in 1992. He has exhibited in Italy and abroad including at Nowhere Gallery, Art Stays Festival, Fondazione L'Arsenale, Contemporary Cluster, to name a few.
