Annie Rouse at Graham Hunter Gallery. We are very excited to present this must-see exhibition "by Arrangement" from a very popular artist showing with us for the very first time.
About
Annie Rouse has exhibited work in Britain and abroad, including many times at The Royal Academy Summer exhibition and the Mall Galleries London.
Annie’s subject matter is home and garden were familiar themes such as flowers from the garden or crockery from the cupboard play a central role in her paintings. These items often change colour, and shape, transformed as they interact with the space and objects around them. They reoccur repeatedly in different paintings, disguised by media, colour, techniques, and perspectives.
Annie’s paintings have a maturity to them that comes from her ability to “push” the paint. By limiting her palette and playing with depth of field her paintings turn the unsophisticated object from the everyday into aesthetically pleasing, yet complex contemporary statements.
