Bunkhouse Residency : Luke Routledge
About
Bunkhouse is hosting an open studio weekend as a result of its first artist residency.
After an open call held in December, Luke Routledge has been selected and will be the first artist-in-residence at Bunkhouse.
Luke is a visual artist working primarily in sculpture, currently based in Birmingham.
Luke’s work uses the human figure as a framework for material experimentation, where everyday objects and materials are combined into life size figurative assemblages. Materials are central to Luke's practice and his work explores their mutability when combined.
Luke has exhibited at Two Queens; Leicester, Vyner Street Gallery in London and in 2017 participated in NAWKI, where his work was screened at 10 different locations across the UK including: CBS; Liverpool, EBC; Bristol, Focal Point Gallery in Southend and Limbo; London.
Bunkhouse welcomes all to an open studio weekend from Friday - Sunday.
On Sunday at 2pm there will be an informal artist talk followed by a film screening chosen by Luke.
