solo exhibition of the Italian artist Bruto Pomodoro

About

On Saturday 21 December at 18:00, Futura Art Gallery presents the personal exhibition of the artist Bruto Pomodoro.

Pomodoro has created a graphic symbol that has become his personal linguistic code. Whether it is marble, paper, canvas, bronze or more modern materials such as resins, the artist always shapes the same symbol made of curves, lines and weaves, perfectly linked together.

As Luca Beatrice writes, the methodical study on biology, embryology and the laws of nature previously carried out in the university environment has allowed Pomodoro to unveil the relationship between art and science through the same "modus operandi". This attitude of his comes close to scientific experimentation. The perpetration of the same motif, always identical to itself and therefore always different, recalls the experimental method, i.e. that way of proceeding that allows to ascertain the accuracy of physical theories by means of the isolated and controlled reproduction of the phenomenon being analyzed. By endlessly replicating the same event, it is possible to ascertain the veracity of the laws that regulate it.

Bruto Pomodoro, born in Milan in 1961, began his artistic career in 1994, leaving behind a long career dedicated to scientific drawing.
After the first figurative experiences, he soon arrived at a personal pictorial research, rigorously abstract, which tries to combine lexicons of some abstract avant-garde with its own symbolic-narrative syntax, aimed at investigating the mysteries of the evolution and development of living forms through a careful study of the chromatic and compositional relationships. The artist lives and works in Tuscany, in Pietrasanta and has exhibited his works since 1994 in numerous personal, public and private exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad.
