The Porthminster Gallery are pleased to announce their second curated show at their newly opened large additional gallery in St Ives, with a specially curated solo exhibition of thirty painted relief constructions by the highly respected and collected London artist Brian Plummer. Showing for the first time in Cornwall, Plummer's sectional multi-layered paintings in this brave new show, dissect the landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, Mallorca, and in his latest works the coastlines of West Cornwall.
The gallery director, David Durham who has represented Plummer in his York galleries since 2003 has curated the exhibition to feature a complementary selection of collectable signed prints by the influential St Ives artists, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, along with a show of sculptural, constructed ceramics by the internationally regarded Regina Heinz, Peter Hayes and Carina Ciscato.
A fully illustrated exhibition catalogue contains an introduction and essays by the late Norbert Lynton and Susan King.
