Fragile contemplative installation open to the skies. Sit shrouded by the materials of keyworker domestic labour and experience the Covid lexicon of 2020-21.
About
We are turned inside out as it breathes in, and then out with the breeze.
Over 127 meters of thread have been used to represent over 127,000 lives lost.
Hand stitched as if by the hand of a Long Covid sufferer- an estimated 674,000 of which 122,000 are NHS health care workers (source O.N.S).
Breath Chamber reflects both our resilience to just keep on breathing, with our many human imperfections...
Breath Chamber is part of the exhibition 'Coming Up For Air' organized by and featuring London Group members & invited artists - for the Waterloo Festival 2021 'RESPAIR' - 16th century word meaning restoration of hope after a period of despair.
BREATH CHAMBER is a ‘living installation’ over the course of the exhibition the artist will continuously add to as we move through the pandemic
