Space to Place
In this presentation I will focus on the course my practice took from 2006 up to now, since the completion of my MFA at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. Having studied architecture prior to art, my interest as a painter has always gravitated around notions of space. However throughout my practice, and especially since my MFA, the angle I have chosen to approach this rather large subject, has changed: from working with representation of virtual spaces to using patches of colour as a means to claim space, from researching the concept of virtuality to diving into colour theory. In this context, I will attempt to give an overview of how my visual work and theoretical research evolved in parallel, where they inspired each other and where they clashed.

From the Beach to the Graveyard and back - A Cinematic Mode of Existence
I will be presenting some of my work with surveillance cameras and laying out the several steps I took in my recent artistic research project to analyze and experiment with this very specific medium. I will also take this opportunity to observe certain pointers about my next project involving the making of films and installations using this socially and politically charged footage.
