Break the Dark Ice: a solo show by Lulu Wang, London based multidisciplinary artist. PV: 15th of June, 6pm to 9pm
About
Lulu Wang's “Break the Dark Ice” exhibition is a testament to the physical existence of the human body. Through her art, Wang explores the intricate relationship between the body and its surroundings, highlighting the ways in which our physical form is shaped by external factors.
The exhibition features a series of artist’s recent and previous works that depict various aspects of the human body, from its internal organs to its external features. Each piece is carefully crafted to showcase the beauty and complexity of our physical form, while also drawing attention to its vulnerability and impermanence.
In addition to her artworks, Wang also incorporates performance art into her exhibition. Through dance and movement, she brings her ideas to life, demonstrating how our bodies are constantly in motion and affected by their environment.
"Break the Dark Ice" is a powerful reminder of the importance of our physical selves. It encourages us to appreciate our bodies for what they are – complex, beautiful creations that are constantly evolving – while also acknowledging their fragility and impermanence.
The show also features a soundscape created in collaboration with Jared Bennett as a preview to artist’s following projects. The work is curated by Maria Abramenko.
