About
BOYS is a segment of a larger project Auguries of Innocence, which started just over four years ago, the first time Tyler picked up a camera. He was going through a hard time and felt that a pretty major transition was on the horizon. He wanted to document those special moments, places and people (many of them boys) as best as he could, in the hope that he could understand things better down the road.
He sais: One of the aspects I enjoy most about this show is the very delicate line between innocence and corruption that each one of these men seems to be straddling. I find the topic of gender classification quite fascinating (especially given the current climate of things) and genuinely feel we are at a tipping point where we will no longer feel the need to put people into labeled boxes: boy, girl, man, woman, trans, gay, straight, bi... curious?? The title Boys, I must admit, is a little tongue in cheek...
