Join art advisor and founder of Art & People, Claudia Kennaugh as she gives us a crash course on the fundamentals and best practice of presentation, framing, and how to leverage these when imagining potential collectors and followers of your work.
About
To kick things off, Claudia will be talking through the importance of materials, finish and framing, and how the choices you make can have a huge impact on the way people see and experience your work. You will leave this section of the crit with a clear checklist of pointers to refer to when considering the presentation of your work.
The second part of the crit will involve an interactive framing masterclass in which you will be able to experiment with a number of different frame samples and mount colours, receiving 1:1 curatorial advice and suggestions from Claudia and other artists in the group. We will also talk through alternatives to framing and more experimental ways to navigate around it.
Artists are encouraged to bring along examples of their own work to the crit, either physically or digitally.
