Friday 27th June 6-9pm Saturday 28th June 1-5pm 183 Bow Road, Bow, London E3 2SJ It's already been an exciting year for Bow Arts including the development of a brand new headquarters, the launch of the East London Painting Prize and the opening of the fantastic'East London Group' exhibition as featured by the BBC, Time Out, Royal Academy Blog & Independent. Join us as we celebrate the core of our organisation: the artists. Bow Arts runs one of the most vibrant and well attended Open Studios in London with an expected turnout of over 2,000! This community embraces visual artists, sculptors, designers and craftspeople. The event provides an excellent opportunity for members of the public, curators and collectors to see a huge range of diverse art forms and artists at every stage of their careers. Over a Friday evening and a Saturday afternoon, our artists will open their studios and invite you in. We have a number of studios in the landmark industrial buildings in Bow Road as well as the nearby state-of-the-art converted biscuit factory at P1 studios (P1 open Friday only). This means that, with map in hand, you can wander from studio to studio, all within a couple of hundred metres of each other Once you've found your way into one of our artist's creative spaces you can have a bit of a nose round, discuss, make contacts, view and, should you so wish, even buy a piece of original art work. After that you can go and see another studio... and another... and another. As many as you like really — bearing in mind that we have about 150 artists at Bow Road and P1 and we're only open for two days! Throughout your visit you are invited to have a wander into the court yard where you will find performance art, food, drink, DJs and market stalls plus educational workshops from our Education Team. More than anything through this event we're creating an opportunity for artists and non-artists to come together in an act of community. The only requirement is your curiosity...
