Boundaries is the second exhibition at LCA featuring a broad range of artists and aiming to redefine the concept of a boundary in art.
About
London Contemporary Art presents its latest show Boundaries. The exhibition not only marks a one year’s anniversary of balancing between traditional and experimental art, but aims to lift the creative boundaries and bring together different styles and media. Where does the artwork start and where does it end?
The abstract works by Rachel Wickremer, Boo Mitford and Brian Neish go beyond any frames and suggest space for personal interpretation. Whereas Debbie Smyth’s and Julia Whitehead’s figuratives allow the narrative to break free in an infinity of thread and shadows, respectively. Sculpture in the form of animal heads formed from wire by Dorcas Casey and still life paintings and maps enhanced with the use of silver and gold leaf by Emma Forrester, Ewan Eason and Yanko Tihov show a delight in the use of the medium. A unique take on landscape is provided by Russell Frampton whose paintings embody imaginary places. Boundaries is a very special eclectic range of works which subtly represents the concept of London Contemporary Art.
