About

BOUDICCA present a fashion perspective that offers, considers and celebrates all possibilities beyond the boundary of ‘the dress'. Celebrated for their couture and tailoring, Zowie Broach and Brian Kirkby purposefully challenge passive assimilation at every level of experience, embracing film, performance, installation and sculpture, presenting their work in museums and galleries internationally. Boudicca are based in London and have been established since 1997, initially showing in art galleries until 2001, when they were invited by the British Fashion Council to present during London Fashion Week. Plymouth College of Art are proud to be presenting this new exhibition, showcasing alumna Zowie Broach who studied her Art Foundation at the College in the 80's. This exhibition is supported through the 2007-2013 Interreg IVA 2 Seas Programme and is part of The Crysalis project, a collaboration between Plymouth College of Art, The University for the Creative Arts (Rochester), The International Centre of Lace and Fashion (Calais) and TI03 Textiles Open Innovation Centre representing Ronse, Belgium.
