About
You will have an opportunity to:
§ Dye with woad, grown and used in Britain for 1000’s of years
§ Create a shibori style design by tying and folding cloth
§ Learn how to make inks from everyday ingredients like turmeric and berries
§ Make and draw in your own simply bound sample book
§ Experiment with contact printing transferring shapes and colours from leaves and flowers directly onto paper
Susan Martin is a textile designer inspired by the landscape and the potential of plants. Susan specialises in natural dyeing with plants harvested from her garden and local woodlands.
