Mathilda Oosthuizen's work engages with boundaries both internal and external, physical and metaphorical; currently through the use of driftwood and anatomical interpretive drawings.
The need to travel across a border to survive and in so doing risking lives is a repeated phenomena. The presented works are reflective of the displacement of people throughout the globe using water as their lifeline.
Conflicts play a crucial part both visually and textually, underlying internal struggles and boundaries and using them to open up ideas and thoughts into a wider context.
