Borde Hill’s 17th annual Sculpture Exhibition will transform the historic garden into an outdoor gallery alive with figurative and abstract works in bronze, resin, stone, metalwork, stained glass and ceramics.

About

The sculptures will be strategically placed throughout the garden with the Elizabethan house as a backdrop, enticing visitors to wander and appreciate an extraordinary mix of art whilst exploring the renowned plant collection that has put Borde Hill Garden on the map.

A notable celebration of art and sculpture, the exhibition showcases works by both established and up-and-coming artists. It offers a unique art experience set within what Country Life has described as ‘One of the country’s truly great gardens’.

Borde Hill Garden will continue the tradition of providing great family days out by once again producing the popular and engaging Kids Sculpture Exhibition Quiz.

The 2016 Sculpture Exhibition at Borde Hill Garden, kindly sponsored for a second year by 1st Central Insurance, will be opened on the 28th April by Baroness Wheatcroft, former editor of The Sunday Telegraph and City Editor of The Times, now deputy chairman of the British Museum and chairman of its Patrons' organisation and working peer, in the presence of selected guests and local Sussex dignitaries.

Andy James, UK CEO of 1ST CENTRAL said, “We’re extremely privileged to have such a beautiful garden steeped in history here in Haywards Heath and as a local employer we’re delighted to have been provided with the opportunity to continue our support of the Sculpture Exhibition which celebrates the work of both new and established artists from the immediate area and beyond”.

The Stephenson Clarke family, who have lived at Borde Hill for four generations, commented: “'We are delighted to continue this successful annual cultural event with the 17th Sculpture Exhibition. We hope that new and exciting artworks will entice and delight our visitors”.

The Sculpture Exhibition runs from 1st May to 30th September 2016, with admission included in the standard entry price.
