We cordially invite you and your friends to our book talks on Friday, 13, 7-9 pm.
About
This time we will introduce the following books:
Gioia de Bruijn
»Weekend Warriors« was supposed to be a private documentation for the artist Gioia de Bruijn, a diary to remember what actually happened during the weekend. The photographs illustrate intimate insights into the festival and afterparty culture in Amsterdam, Berlin and London.
Julia de Cooker
In Svalbard, a place close to the north pole, an extraordinary community of 2.300 people from over 40 different countries has developed. The contrast between the hostile environment and the modern city creates an almost science fiction like impression. Julia de Cooker’s photographs show a temporary place made for temporary living.
Hosam Katan
»Yalla Habibi - Living with War in Aleppo« reflects the point of view of the artist Hosam Katan on the daily life in his home town during the civil war. The photographs show snapshots of the contrasting experiences and emotions of the people who are trying to balance the horror of the war with a glimmer of normality.
The talks will be held in English.
