About

Palm leaf books are a traditional form in India, Indonesia and South East Asia. Their long and narrow shapes come from the palm leaf, from which the pages were originally made. The book is read by flipping the pages.

Participants will be invited to fill the book with thoughts and ideas about the objects seen in the exhibition. It will be an exercise in drawing, design, and art response, and will also be a memento of the gallery visit for each child to keep.

Materials will be provided: card, cord, felt tip pens, coloured papers, and glue.

Suitable for ages 8-11 years
