Marlborough Contemporary and Black Dog Publishing are pleased to announce an evening with Werner Büttner in conversation with Harald Falkenberg, Daniel Richter and Andrew Renton on 28 January 2016, 6–8pm.
About
The event celebrates the publication of Coincidence in Splendour and My Looting Eye, two new books published on the work of Werner Büttner by Black Dog Publishing in partnership with Marlborough Contemporary.
Coincidence in Splendour and My Looting Eye provide, for the first time in English, a major overview of Büttner’s work, one of the most influential artists in Germany of
the past 30 years. The books deal, respectively, with the artist’s remarkable output as a painter from the 1980s to the present, and his evocative and provocative engagement
with collage since 2000.
In further celebration of these publications, Marlborough Contemporary will be displaying, for one day only (10am – 8pm), a selection of the artist’s work, installed in the gallery specially to coincide with this event and the books’ publication.
