Synopsis: “Body Riot ” is a 3 hour durational performance which aims to transform a state of political protest into a manifesto of queer radical sexuality. Non binary artists Rachael Mauney , and Telmo Branco occupy the space in the spirit of a riot against all colonial structures.

Synopsis: “Body Riot ” is a 3 hour durational performance which aims to transform a state of political protest into a manifesto of queer radical sexuality. Non binary artists Rachael Mauney (they/them), and Telmo Branco (they/them) occupy the space in the spirit of a riot against all colonial structures.
In this durational interdisciplinary performance work, we utilize decolonial body languages, sound design, drag, and political speeches to perform this protest. The body cannot heal when it cannot move oppressive and violent colonial concepts out of its organism. The voice cannot be liberated when it remains muted, manipulated, and forgotten. Often queer stories are abstracted into oblivion, and force further erasure of our experience. This work is our manifesto of our lived experiences and the continuous queer struggle.
"Body Riot" is an act of liberating the queer non binary body through specific physical and vocal expressions of pleasure, as well as redefining what pleasure looks like on a body no longer confined by heteronormative aesthetics.
