About
Bob Bentley is a film maker as well as an artist.
He went to Brighton College of Art where he developed his visual talents. Then it was the Royal College of Art Film School and the artwork became somewhat sidelined.
Bob had a 50 year film & TV career, winning a BAFTA for Best Short Film with RECLUSE.
He sporadically continued with the art, but with no desire to exhibit or sell. His early work lay uncared for in his parent’s attic before being transferred to his own homes. He went on to create visual artwork up to the covid pandemic in 2020.
Almost none of the art was sold, so the body of Bob’s work is intact, providing the basis for this exhibition and accompanying book: BOB BENTLEY-ARTWORK FROM 1962 TO 2020. It has a foreword by art critic Richard Cork.
