About

Inspired by some exciting BOATRACE action photographs by Ben Bradshaw - the young son of photographer Christine Bradshaw - THE HEPSIBAH GALLERY is proud to announce an action packed new show of Photography, Printmaking, Drawings and Oil sketches. Ben's photographs brought to mind that Cyril Power linocut of The Eight which was, I think, exhibited at The British Linocuts Exhibition at The Redfern Gallery in 1929. The movement of the rowers, the lines their bodies make and the almost Futurist action are all so reminiscent of Power's linocuts that the rule of 'chicken or egg' is well and truly blurred. It's not just because of the same subject matter it's about the power of the drawing whether in paint, ink or photograph. and there is an extra bonus for us proud West Londoners...the background to all of this is Hammersmith Bridge and The Mall in all it's glory in spite of the weather!
