BLUE CIRCLE

About

An Exhibition of cement-based print work by Steve Mace This ‘Blue Circle' exhibition of cement-based art brings together artistic practice, industrial knowledge and heritage, and the design archival holdings in the Faculty of Arts. It embraces Steve Mace's longstanding interest in, and personal involvement with, heavy industry, the industrial landscape and those who have worked in it. Particularly significant is the artist's first hand knowledge of the Kent cement industry and the ways in which this has impacted on his artistic output. This is reflected in the ways in which process, experimentation and change in the industry have informed his two and three-dimensional cement-based work. Additionally ‘Blue Circle' brings together eloquently basic materials and experimental techniques, both on site and in the studio, in the making of works that offer a challenging approach to printmaking. The exhibition also includes designs be FHK Henrion from the University's Design Archives. Preview 9th October, 6pm - 8pm Exhibition 10th October - 7th November Open Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm University of Brighton Gallery Grand Parade Brighton BN2 0JY 01273 643010
