Featuring 55 of the most promising artists emerging from UK art schools, Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2014 comes to Cornwall with work by new and recent fine art graduates.
About
Marking its 65th anniversary, selectors Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, Enrico David and Goshka Macuga chose works by the most promising artists emerging from UK art schools from nearly 1,400 submissions, including graduates from Falmouth University, Stacey Guthrie, Edward Hill, Melissa Kime and Frances Williams. The resulting exhibition is an incisive snapshot of contemporary practice, spanning diverse media, processes, themes, influences and approaches - from moving image and performance to more traditional approaches to making work such as printmaking, painting and sculpture.
Showcasing final year students, graduates and artists one year out of study, the annual national touring exhibition has consistently acted as a barometer of contemporary art practice, shining a spotlight on the hottest talents of the year.
Showing at both Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange.
