BLANKSPACE In_Tuition is an open forum for creatives based in the North-West. An opportunity for artists to talk about their work and inspire others through creative understanding, musing and action! Join us every Tuesday at BLANKSPACE for tea and cake as we delve into each artist's creative mindset! BLANKSPACE In_Tuition will launch with an open session on Tuesday 1 February (6:30-8:30pm) to discuss the current exhibition, BlankExpression 2011 with a chance to talk to the participating artists about their practice and work in the new show. Monthly Schedule (6:30-8:30pm): ”¢ FINE ART (1st Tuesday of every month) Starting off, the first Tuesday of each month will be a forum dedicated to Fine Art theory and critical analysis of Fine Art practice. A place where artists and enthusiasts can meet together; discuss technique, concept and social & historical context, as well as the relevance of philosophical ideas that can feed and stimulate a wide range of work. With the programme of discussion topics influenced and chosen by attendees and a supportive atmosphere for emerging practitioners, this group is for anyone who has a passion for Fine Art and enjoys being both informed and inspired! ”¢ LITERATURE & CREATIVE WRITING (2nd Tuesday of every month) On the second Tuesday of each month we will look at literature and creative writing. Informal and relaxed discussions of technique in poetry, prose, scripts and visual realisations through text will mix with debate around contemporary and classic stylings from particular authors and publications of interest. The sessions will incorporate a workshop constructive criticism session of original work from participants within the group. ”¢ MOVING IMAGE (3rd Tuesday of every month) On the third Tuesday, we discuss the creative impetus of the ‘moving image' and gain an understanding of the very nature of the video and film making practice through; discussion, critique, the sharing of ideas and mutual experience. Come armed with past, current and on-going video and film projects as well as personal aspirations and inspirations! ”¢ FREE-STYLE (4th Tuesday of every month) On the fourth Tuesday of every month, we invite practitioners from all of these groups and anyone that may not be quite sure of which group they fit in to free-style with us. Anything goes! A chance to share your work with a wide demographic of practitioners and audiences, learn new techniques and expand your personal practice.
