Campoli Presti is pleased to announce Blake Rayne's seventh solo exhibition with the gallery, which will run concurrently in London and in Paris.
Over the past 15 years Blake Rayne's marked and accelerated conversations have challenged and altered assumptions regarding definitions of medium specificity. Considered as a sign that is open to appropriation, painting's definition is continually being constructed by linguistic, institutional and physical relations.
His exhibition at Campoli Presti will organize itself around three elements - a group of paintings, a sculpture and a set of three transparent vinyls – that explore the idea of artistic agency as a field recording. The exhibition continues Rayne's interest in structural cinema as a way of referencing painting's material conditions, foregrounding its physical nature and deconstructing its discursive components.
