About

Black Dogs, Leeds weaned art-pups, have rustled up another doggy treat for the people of this city and its visitors to enjoy. In this instance their usual mindless absurdities are being put to good old fashioned utilitarian ends, to help navigators of the Situation Leeds festival with limited time or resources decide which artworks they experience. This will be achieved through the creation of a personalised itinerary for the festival for every participant who requires guidance. Spin the wheel and let the element of chance be your guide. Careless Talk Costs Nothing promises to do just that by making use of a multitude of randomly selected drunkards, vagabonds and other members of the art-going public framed as art connoisseurs. These 'connoisseurs' have been tethered and collectively forced to give helpful descriptions and critiques of the numerous projects in the festival, without actually seeing them and with only the scarcest of detail (fact and fiction) about the works to go on. Collective art opinion, knowledge and wisdom is offered through filmic means where visitors view potentially familiar faces explaining in varying detail their responses to numerous projects that make up the festival programme (Real information also available).
