Birth Rites Bi-Annual Award

The Bi-Annual showcase of The Birth Rites Competition 2015. The exhibition will feature works by the 23 shortlisted submitting artists.

The works submitted were considered by judges, Helen Knowles, Birth Rites Curator and Althea Greenan, Women's Art Library, Special Collections, Goldsmiths University. The chosen works will be featured for one month on our website and show- cased digitally at an event on the 13th March 2015 in the Egg Suite in Media CityUK. The digital screening of these works will then be on show for ten days following the launch.

At the showcase, one winner of the competition will be announced and their work will become part of the Birth Rites Collection. The prize winner will also be awarded a two to three week residency at The Womens Art Library at Goldsmiths University. This op- portunity will be a chance to make new contacts in the art scene at Goldsmiths and to create new work. In addition to securing a residency, Birth Rites Collection will provide a stipend and winning work will become part of the Birth Rites Collection, Salford University
