About the charity:
The Maya Centre is a small, grass-roots organisation, run by women, for women. Our charitable objects are: (1) To provide relief for women who are suffering from mental health problems by means of therapeutic services; and (2) To educate the general public on the subject of mental health. We have been offering mental health support to women in our local community and across London for over 30 years.
We provide a free counselling service for women on benefits level income who experience mental health issues stemming from trauma, including domestic violence, physical abuse or sexual abuse in childhood, war and conflict, and harmful cultural practices.
