BIG BANG NIGHT - Music and Peace

Another crowdversation experience brought by Big Bang Lab and hosted by Dreamstake in the format of screening, open discussion and networking. We will be screening the award winning documentary Knowledge is the Beginning (2005)à‚  showing the birth and development of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, a project led by Daniel Barenboim,à‚ where young Arabs and Jews perform and live side by side. It is a film about what music can do; the way it can transcend cultural barriers, bring people together, defeat prejudice and overcome religious and political differences.à‚  CROWDVERSATIONS ON SCREENà‚  Is it music and community collective efforts able to bring peace in the Middle East? We will engage together to question the issue of culture and conflict resolution, the role of music, community participation in dealing with long term conflicts and the pursuit of peace. Daniel Barenboim said that his project can only bring the curiosity and patience to understand each others narratives. What do you think?
