About

Stride Arts proudly presents Beyond the Image 超以像外 2020 featuring the latest compelling artwork by Chinese contemporary artist and philosopher QX Wang. This exhibition brings together thirty-three of QX Wang’s mixed media paintings and fifty ceramics.  The show will be open to the public starting October 16th and running through November 30th, 2020.

You are cordially invited to the VIP private viewing and meeting with the artist on October 16th from 3-7 pm.

For the well-being and safety of our visitors and staff, we have adjusted our visitor experience. We ask you to book your visit via our website www.stridearts.com/event  and exhibition or simply email  info@stirdearts.com.

To meet both visitor demand and safety guidelines we have arranged multiple opportunities for you to meet the artist wherein QX Wang will be joining us every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 – 6 pm throughout the run of the exhibit.

About the Artist: QX Wang:

QX Wang is well known for his unique approach to art. Free from the limitations of conventional notions of image, he moves freely around the image, treating it with wit and self-awareness in what ancient scholars referred to as aloft beyond the image and forgetting the shape for the meaning.

Wang uses long and heavy brushes to draw or write on Xuan paper, often employing a mixed medium of watercolor, acrylic, and oil paint. There is great emphasis on line of all varieties. Viewing his work from a distance, one can readily appreciate the element of Chinese calligraphy.
