Join the Climate Museum for its first in-person event since the pandemic: the launch of Beyond Lies, a public art campaign focused on fossil fuel industry disinformation, created by celebrated artist and data journalist Mona Chalabi. This event kicks off a multi-month campaign.
About
The Climate Museum will share a series of Chalabi posters, educate visitors about fossil fuel media literacy, and catalyze the public’s engagement in civic action to challenge the industry’s harmful role in climate policy. The Museum will spotlight the need for timely action and the importance of reaching out to Congress to prioritize climate action and aggressive policy-making--free of fossil fuel industry influence--within the budget reconciliation.
Teen climate action volunteers will amplify these messages, joining the fight for a climate-safe future, both at the event and through community outreach post-event.
Visitors are encouraged to take home free posters to participate in this public art campaign, hanging posters in their own neighborhoods, sharing digitally on social media, and taking recommended civic actions.
Beyond Lies is based on work by experts including award-winning investigative journalists, academic researchers, and policy analysts on the fossil fuel industry’s decades-long disinformation crusade. Experts will be available to answer the public’s questions at the event.
