The boom of spirituality is evident in all facets of our everyday life. Whether we notice Buddhas in living rooms, meditation courses in the office or the celebration of yoga as a lifestyle. Spiritual, but not religious, is particularly popular among millennials worldwide, which made spirituality highly Instagramable.
The exhibition Beyond Belief questions spirituality: is it a new world religion, pure business or does it have the potential to shape our future? This creates a dialogue with artistic positions that show diverse facets of spirituality - whether as criticism, sensual debate or as a witch room staging. Beyond Belief unites 44 artists from 17 countries, including Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Italy and Germany, and offers different beliefs and perspectives in order to find an approach that goes beyond belief - to overcome rigid doctrines and thereby promotes a more tolerant society.
Among the exhibited artists are names like Joseph Beuys, Pipilotti Rist, Mary Bauermeister, Zoulikha Bouabdellah or Aisha Juma.
