A new exhibition of art works by Beverly Peter Meyers shows at
La Galleria Pall Mall between 29th October and the 3rd November 2012.
The collection includes paintings inspired by music - his interpretation of harmony, tempo and tonality, and the revisiting of his Zimbabwean roots where he is influenced by the art forms of the people of his birth place. These inspirations have been expressed by his idiomatic use of colour, composition and textures.
Figurative allusions to jazz melodies or African culture are manifested in his works alongside the most emotional abstraction.
Beverly was born in Zimbabwe but has been based in London since the 60's, continuing his connection with Dulcie Wessiek and Peter Birch whom he first studied with and who later founded Salisbury School of Art. The Quality of his art work is reflected in his idiomatic use of an earthy palette, open-ended composition and unrefined texture.
His art works are the perfect fusion between some of the most attractive ways of communication; culture, music and painting
