About
Fay Nicolson ends her solo exhibition OVER AND OVER PURE FORM with a reading of fragments from her on-going text of the same name. This playful text outlines short scenarios and abstract sketches on ‘aesthetic understanding’. This text uses the exercise and instruction to frame the relationship between the reader and listener or teacher and student, addressing themes such as learning, repetition, power, action, sense and nonsense. The text draws from educational models and lived experiences; exaggerating pedagogic ideas to bring out their poetics, politics, masochism and humour.
The reading will begin at promptly at 7, please arrive in time for the beginning of the performance.
This is part of Digbeth First Friday.
