About

DAILY / A CONVERSATION THROUGH IMAGES BROADSHEET //// IVAN ILLICH / A LIVE READING AND IDEA MAP/// COMEDOR DE LOS VIERNES /// DAILY Daily is a conversation between many artists through images from the day's papers. Artists involved with each organization engage in a dialogue using images from the day's printed papers, in whatever city they may happen to be. As the project grows, new interlocutors are invited to the project. During the month of July, artists engaged with FIVE YEARS will start a new conversation. Daily is a collaborative project between SOMA and Beta-Local for the third Polygraphic Triennial in San Juan, Puerto Rico. You can follow the conversation here:http://daily.betalocal.org/index.php?sort=fecha IVAN ILLICH Beta -Local's Public School---a school without a curriculum through which anyone can propose a class that they want to take or teach---is named after educator and philosopher Ivan Illich, who lived in Puerto Rico during the years prior to the writing of Deschooling Society. Five Years will organize a live reading of Tools for Conviviality and collectively produce a diagram of Ivan Illich's ideas. http://www.betalocal.org/laivanillich.html UN COMEDOR DE LOS VIERNES Every month, Beta-Local organizas a Comedor, an open canteen dinner to which everyone contributes in order to fund the participation of international artists in our residency program. These dinners serve an important function, as they overlap audiences---neighbors, artists, students, teenagers---all invested in the continuation of the space from different vantage points. On friday the 27th, Five Years will host a Comedor de los Viernes, with Puerto Rican specialties
