Christie’s hosts a selling exhibition of over 40 drawings by emerging artists from the Royal Drawing School, coinciding with its Modern British & Irish Art sale
About
Running for six days and coinciding with Christie’s Modern British & Irish Art sale, Best of the Drawing Year 2016 will feature a selection of over 40 works by 28 emerging artists in a variety of media including pencil, marker pen, ink, watercolour, woodcuts, and etching. As the culmination of the School’s intensive postgraduate programme for 2015-16, the exhibition celebrates the range and scope of drawing from observation in contemporary practice. It also features work by previous Drawing Year alumni, including Clara Drummond’s preparatory drawing for Girl in a Liberty Dress, awarded First Prize in the BP Portrait Award 2016, and work by Kathryn Maple, First Prize Winner of The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition 2016.
