About
As a timely tribute, following the recent passing of Bert Hackett, mac presents the popular exhibition: The Gemini Years. For over forty years Bert Hackett tickled the readers of The Birmingham Post with his incisively observed cartoons and his sharply satirical commentary. Under the assumed name of Gemini, Bert was loved and revered as a commentator on Birmingham politics, while encompassing issues of regional, national and international significance too. Between 1966 and 2008 he produced a political cartoon every week.
The Gemini Years brings together a collection of cartoons spanning Bert’s time at The Birmingham Post, and celebrates the work of an artist who has made an important contribution to Birmingham journalism.
