Join us for Beneath Our Footsteps, an exhibition exploring Leytonstone's lost river, Philley Brook!

About

Over the past few months, digital arts collective Compiler have been working with different groups of local residents to creatively rediscover the lost Philley Brook river, which runs beneath the streets of Upper Walthamstow, Leytonstone, and Leyton.

In collaborating with sound artist Brigitte Hart, psychogeographer John Rogers, and equalities designer and researcher Natasha Trotman, amongst other local practitioners, they have delivered a series of creative workshops and guided walks.

The exhibition marks the culmination of this project, celebrating the outcomes and launching an interactive, collaborative web-based artwork made with input from all participants involved.

📅 Thu 6 – Sun 9 Feb, 12 – 6pm

🎉 Private View in on Sat 8 Feb, 4 – 6pm: Meet the participating artists, connect with local creatives, and enjoy some nibbles and refreshments!

📍1 Church Lane, E11 1HG (next to Leytonstone tube)

Beneath Our Footsteps is made possible by the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s Make It Happen 2024 grants programme.
