About
By wearing badges we can connect with one another and reveal something about ourselves. With their unique symbols and hidden meanings, Bejewelled: Badges, Brotherhood and Identity features over 150 examples of masonic badges called ‘jewels’. It is the largest public display of its kind ever staged in the UK.
Featuring jewels from around the world, the exhibition sheds light on a long and celebrated tradition. Examples like the Egyptian-inspired Authors’ Lodge jewel illustrate the story of freemasonry’s inspiration and evolution over the centuries. Whether made by Prisoners of War or for future kings, the finely-crafted jewels are only matched by the story behind each one.
