About
In this exhibition Harfleet delves into his queerness and personal
history to share his love of birds in an attempt to
understand his own sense of camp and flamboyance
and how it intersects with ornithology and its
troubling cultural history.
Harfleet is known for his ongoing work with The
Pansy Project, he has been planting pansies at sites
of homophobia and transphobia since 2005 and has
been included in exhibitions and festivals around
the world. Recently his work featured in ‘Vanguard:
Bristol Street Art’, at the M-Shed, Bristol and ‘Earthly
Observatory’, SAIC galleries, Chicago, USA. In 2022
he was amongst the first winners of the Madame
F Queer Britain Art award and is included in their
permanent collection.
