Raffling artworks for free as a way to democratize visual arts? Yes, and more, with a night of diverse storytellers.

Brooklyn, NY – Do you appreciate the unique and unconventional? ‘Because, Summer – The Storytelling Speakeasy’ will be an evening of vibrant narratives curated by Dick Burroughs and So Boom, Check It, MCed by Comrade Cav, and hosted by Gallery Particulier. This special night will feature storytellers sharing real-life, short stories inspired by the theme ‘Summer,’ each interpreting it in their own unique way. Plus, a free raffle of artworks!

  • Curator: Dick Burroughs from So Boom, Check It. An imaginative, not to say genius, curator (Remix!!) and writer, known for his vibrant storytelling.

  • MC: Comrade Cav, Bringing his sense of nonchalant hip from London, renowned for his 'Brooklyn In The House' event.

Storytellers interested in showcasing their talent can apply here: Storyteller Application Form

This event marks the grand finale of the Let It Fly exhibit, a group show of prints by Gallery Particulier artists. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a free raffle where winners can host a print of their choice in their home for five months - no strings attached.

At the launch of our storytelling series, 'Because, Summer - The Storytelling Speakeasy,' we will sip on subversive concoctions, indulge in stimulating morsels, and get hooked on suspenseful tales.

About Gallery Particulier:

Gallery Particulier is a Brooklyn-based non-profit gallery connecting creators with laypeople by exhibiting art in NYC homes. Founded in 2021 by Arabella von Arx, an art critic and editor, this new kind of gallery aims to bridge the gap between communities and artists by facilitating easy access to original works. It serves as a laboratory to create a model that other art organizations or artist collectives can scale up or adopt.
